- A barrier of entry to keep the riff-raff out. With free communities you get what you're paying for; it's like going to a disco with no cover charge and no doorman - you might meet someone really cool or you might be stalked by a total creep you run into randomly.
- While your email will remain invisible, your social media links will be visible exclusively to the other members. In the interests of your privacy and security, your social media links won't be public.
- Everyone will have a bit of sunk cost motivation to make meaningful connections. How many "free" social networks have you joined and then never actually used to meet people?
- It will keep out the spammers and scammers.
Many private communities charge a lot more for membership, but we want Biohacker Connect to be affordable enough that there's an abundance of people.
