Biohacker Review: Kinda like Modafinil minus the sweats but really not worth trying...

I tried Adrafinil for the first time yesterday, I did about 300 milligrams first thing in the morning, and found it pretty consistent with my experiences with Modafinil. It put me deep into the focus zone for about six hours (a little shorter than Modafinil). For the next three consecutive days, I did the same dosage of Adrafinil and I feel I've run into its tolerance curve; on the afternoon of the third day I actually grew tired after lunch, did a second dose of about 200 milligrams (eyeballing it). So it’s not an everyday smart drug...

The nice thing absent was the sweats; Modafinil often makes me sweat while I'm there working on my computer, which I have always found weird.

I'm trying to take all my powdered Nootropics sublingually, to maximize bioavailability. This is rough with Adrafinil, it just tastes like you have a formaldehyde-covered zombie frog (the kind you dissected in science class) writhing under your tongue - it's pretty bad. I think it is, hands down, the worst-tasting smart drug (high praise coming from me!) I'm starting to get a gross taste in my mouth just looking at the packaging.

One day I upped my dosage to two little spoonfuls (about 600 milligrams) and even at that dosage, the effect was just not that noticeable. Definitely not like being on two Modafinils! Although, I didn't have a mid-afternoon tiredness spell.

It's cheap compared to even the most competitive Modafinil sources; $33 for 10 grams. At a high daily dosage of 300 milligrams, I have 33 doses here at about 70 cents/dosage. Compared that Modafinil tablets which start at a dollar per capsule. A clear economic decision if you don't mind the ghastly taste of Adrafinil.

However, I'd be irresponsible here if I failed to mention that long-term Adrafinil use causes liver damage, the primary reason I believe that it never got approved as a pharmaceutical drug and they had to invent Modafinil. With my 90-Day No Boozing habit, I think my liver is pretty happy with me and I'm not planning on using Adrafinil long-term.

Update
I’ve had this package of Adrafinil for nearly two years and I’ve stopped using it because it just doesn't have the effect desired consistently (or at all). It’s probably nearing its expiration date so it’s about time for it to go into the trash! Never mind Adrafinil just use Modafinil.

More about Adrafinil vs Modafinil

Adrafinil is the non-prescription version of Modafinil and a search for it on Pubmed yields +25 results. Adrafinil is technically a prodrug of Modafinil, meaning that it converts or metabolizes into Modafinil in the liver. The biggest difference between the two is that Adrafinil is, currently, unregulated in the United States. Although Modafinil can be acquired via numerous sources online, varying from shady silk road wannabes to highly credible supplement retailers, there's still a legality issue for US citizens. For those who wish to stay on the right side of the law without bothering a doctor for a prescription, Adrafinil is the clear choice.

Dude. Personally, I feel eyeballing ANYTHING is right up there with getting a rock-band tattooed on you. I couldn't believe it when u said u eyeballed it... SMH. I've seen guys do it with Vodka, etc, but u seem smarter than that. Doing powder MUST be terrible for yr poor eyes. I mean, it is yr life, so what I say means nothing, right?
Also - I found Adrafinil was weak as compared to Modafinil. I dunno, maybe it's just me, but Modafiinil was like 5000mg caffeine (no way u can sleep, buzzing feeling etc) but the Adrafinil u can take at bedtime, with no effect. I neve found Adrafinil doing anything noticeable to my stack (phenyl-Piracetam, Sulbutiamine, Noopept, Sunifiram, small doses Phenibut) that weren't there before, so if I forgot it, there was no difference, at all.
Anyway.
thnx
