The Heuristic Habit for Getting Outside Your Comfort Zone

The Heuristic Habit for Getting Outside Your Comfort Zone

Ⓒ By Jonathan Roseland

Early in the year on personal development and Entrepreneurial podcasts, we hear a lot about maintaining momentum with our New Year's Resolutions.

And I've been hearing kind of a lot of the same sort of generic advice...

  • You should write down your goals.
  • The new year could be your best year
  • If you failed to accomplish all your goals last year that doesn't mean goals are bad, it just means you should make new goals for the new year.
  • Your goals should be S.M.A.R.T (Specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-specific).

So this kind of advice is all good, it does work but it's all basic stuff my mom had taught me by the time I was like 10 years old. Thanks, mom! So I've decided to do something different! This video is a concise yet complete guide to a scientifically grounded practice for productivity that you might not be using...

In this classic Limitless Mindset video, I demystify "listening to your gut" and explain how to harness it for productivity, profit, pleasure, blowing through your comfort zone, and more! How to do it...

  1. Look through your to-do list.
  2. Be attentive to your heuristic reactions - what gives you a gut reaction of resistance or even shame about something you know you should do.
  3. Make a move immediately towards doing that thing, don't think about it too much (you'll think yourself out of it).
  4. Feel awesome!

For this habit to ROI, it should be quantified so add this habit: Gut React in Coach.me If you have an Android device, an iPhone, or a computer you have no excuse to not use this productivity app!
