Announcing “Biohacker Connect”

Connect with the Biohacker Community Near You...
Biohacker Connect is a geodirectory that will help you connect with biohackers near you.
This biohacking/lifehacking stuff is supposed to be a team sport and it's a lot more fun when you're not doing it alone. There are a bunch of Biohacking forums, Subreddits, and social media groups but good luck making real friends through them. Digital acquaintances are no substitute for flesh and blood humans that you can break bread (or an intermittent fast) with. I'm not aware of an online Biohacker space that facilitates local connections so I decided to build it and buck the trend of lame "Zoom parties" and online conferences.

Join the Secret Society...
In my books, I've written about The Secret Society Infiltration Model for "Networking" - which is being a little more strategic about your socializing, you make an effort to connect with high-affinity groups (Secret Societies) and those with who you'll have deeply shared values. This is what I aim to facilitate with the Biohacker Connect.
I've met and talked with hundreds of biohackers over the years and it's a quintessential Secret Society - We overwhelmingly share an obsessive interest in health, intellectual curiosity, and a deep sense of personal responsibility. We love science, question the shoddy dogmas of modernity, and are critical free-thinkers. Biohackers treasure freedom and have a philosophically robust conception of it. Having a few Biohackers as non-digital "friends" is a real redoubt from the madness and dysfunction that passes for normal life these days. It's a tribe well worth seeking out!
About Biohacker Connect...
- This is not another social network that you need to keep tabs on. No newsfeed, no ads, no friend requests, no notifications, no comments, and no app to download.
- When you create your profile (takes less than 5 minutes) you'll be prompted to add an email address (which will remain private) that biohackers near you can use to get in touch via a form that keeps your email address invisible.
- In the summary/description section of your profile tell a little about yourself; your interests specific to Biohacking and health, what you do for work or play, and your eagerness to meet like-minded new people.
- You can add links to your social media profiles (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc) to get in touch with you.
- You can use it to host Biohacker meetups; in the past, I've done these in a few cities around the world and always met cool people.
- If you join and nobody is near you, just give it some time. I'll be pushing this out to the approximately 10,000 people who follow me in different places around the internet. So check back on the Biohacker Connect map from time to time and reach out to anyone new in your neighborhood.
- If you're not in a major population center, join anyway - you never know who might be in your area. If you're traveling, check and see if there's anyone where you're going. I'll add that it's often worth traveling to make a high-affinity connection. Years ago, I was in Zagreb, Croatia and I saw on social media that this entrepreneurship guru I follow was about a 5-hour trip away at the seaside. I took a few days to head out to meet him, we had lunch, and we remain friends.
I'm going to be charging $9.99 yearly for a Biohacker Connect membership for a couple of good reasons...
- A barrier of entry to keep the riff-raff out. With free communities you get what you're paying for; it's like going to a disco with no cover charge and no doorman - you might meet someone cool or you might be stalked by a total creep you run into randomly.
- While your email will remain invisible, your social media links will be visible exclusively to the other members. In the interests of your privacy and security, I wouldn't want your social media links visible to just anyone trolling through my website.
- Everyone will have a bit of sunk-cost motivation to make meaningful connections. How many "free" social networks have you joined and then never actually used to meet people?
- It will keep out the spammers and scammers.
Join now for just $9.99 (Paypal and Crypto accepted). Many private communities charge a lot more for membership, but I want Biohacker Connect to be affordable enough that there's an abundance of people there.
With this sort of thing safety, security, and privacy are paramount...
- In the address field in the location section of your profile enter your city, state, or country NOT your home address.
- When you connect with a new person chat with them a bit online first just to make sure they're someone worth meeting.
- Social media vetting is a good idea when you're meeting someone new off the internet. You can take a quick gander at their activity to make sure they aren't a total weirdo.
- Meet new people in public places (with a friend or two if possible).
- You can use your real name or a pseudonym on your profile.
- You can use your real photo on your profile or an avatar - which might be best, especially if you're an attractive woman (as most biohackers of the fairer sex are!)
Biohackers are overwhelmingly very decent, upstanding people so practicing a little common sense, Biohacker Connect will safely enable you to make some high-affinity connections.
So what are you waiting for?
And, of course, I'm in Biohacker Connect here - I live in Sofia, Bulgaria so if you're in this corner of Europe hit me up!
High on high affinity,
Jonathan Roseland
